Adding Weather Station to the DREAM control systems

22-11-2010

With the added capability of communicating a DAVIS "Vantage Pro 2" Weather Station the DREAM is now capable of supplying 11 important meteorological parameters by which important functions can be accomplished:

  • Frost protection

  • Rain delay

  • Irrigation, based on Daily Evapotranspiration data
The new version of the DREAM control systems is now supporting direct connection to a Weather Station. Utilizing a special interface and a Davis "Vantage Pro 2" Weather Station the following information can be obtained:
  • Barometric pressure
  • Daily rain
  • Outside Temperature
  • Rain rate
  • Outside Humidity
  • UV radiation
  • Wind Speed
  • Daily Evapotranspiration
  • Wind Direction
  • Dew point
  • Solar radiation

Apart from the ability of monitoring and recording the meteorological parameters, the information can be used for conditioning the system operation on the actual values. Tools have been included that based on the meteorological parameters will enable Frost Protection, Rain Delay and irrigation by Evapotranspiration.

As shown below, the “Vantage Pro 2” Weather Station of Davis consists of an Integrated Sensor Suit (ISS) and a Console.
